Free College Basketball Prediction From Doc's Sports: Take Arizona State over Arizona (9 p.m., Friday, Feb. 14) Both teams swept the Oregon schools last weekend, with Arizona State jumping out to a 20-point halftime lead before having to hang on for dear life last Saturday. Arizona also struggled to put away Oregon before pounding Oregon State on Sunday. That being said, Arizona is clearly not the same team without Brandon Ashley, and I just do not believe they will consistently be able to win games on the road. Arizona State is desperate and needs this game to ensure that they make the NCAA Tournament. They have the ingredients to pull the upset with a solid point guard and a big force in the middle. The Sun Devils are 13-1 at home this season. Expect them to take down their rivals on Valentine’s Day. Do not miss Doc’s Sports weekend card highlighted by a 6-unit selection on Saturday! Free College Basketball Prediction From Jason Sharpe: Take Chattanooga -4.5 over Western Carolina (7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 13) Chattanooga is the better of these two Southern Conference squads. The Mocs are off to a 9-2 start in conference play under their first-year head coach. They should come in very motivated as well as they have dropped three of their last four, including an ugly loss in overtime to a bad Samford team in their last game. All three losses were on the road, though, and they do come into this game with a very solid 10-1 home record on the season.
Western Carolina has won three of their last four games, but don't be fooled by this. They have just one decent conference win all season and are just 3-9 away from home this year overall. Even if you look outside the Southern Conference, WCU has had wins against mostly bottom-level teams. WCU came into this season showing they were getting worse each of their last four seasons, and it's my belief that trend will continue by the end of this year as well.
Take Chattanooga in this game. If you love small-conference CBB like this play here then you will love my big 8-Unit CBB Game of the Year this Thursday night. I have been on a nice profitable start to the week so far in CBB. Hit my CBB Game of the Week just last Thursday, making me now 4-2 overall in GOTW plays in 2014 for CBB.
Free College Basketball Prediction From Strike Point Sports: Take Saint Louis over VCU (2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 15) ESPN may have cancelled BracketBuster Saturday, however with these two A-10 teams clashing as league opponents for the time being, this sort of remains a version of the old mid-major classic. VCU is the more well-known commodity thanks to their Final Four run a couple of years ago and NCAA Tournament resume. But this season the team to perhaps be worried about is Saint Louis. They pose a threat on both sides of the court, and at home they are extremely tough to beat. I think VCU has a good team this year, but I think Saint Louis has a great team. The home team offers a bit more well-rounded play, and we go with them in a key conference matchup.
Free College Basketball Prediction From Indian Cowboy: Take South Carolina over Alabama (4 p.m., Sat, Feb. 15) I'm a huge fan of Alabama, but that does not mean I am not aware of this team's weaknesses. Alabama comes off a great win over Ole Miss at home as Trevor Relaford hits a game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer in what was a big win for this squad at home. However, that win was to avoid losing 5 straight for the first time in the Anthony Grant tenure at Alabama. This year has been a struggle for the Tide, and even with that win Alabama is still 4 games under .500 at 10-14. Now, it's hard to be that tough on Bama considering they had a couple off season transfers before the season started, and this team still has the second most difficult Strength of Schedule in America. When Anthony Grant scheduled these games, it was with the thought that he would have his star players not transfer as they have. The lack of star power and upperclassman has affected this team on the road as they are 0-7 SU on the road. As Bama comes off a win big win at home, look for them to have a let down here against South Carolina, who lost by just 1 point to Ole Miss at home earlier this year. South Carolina is 1-9 in conference play entering Thursday, and they will be desperately fired up facing Alabama at home. Though Alabama will be better next year, this is a tough spot for them to face South Carolina as they still seek their first road win. South Carolina is still a team that is a Top 125 team on the offensive end, and as Bama struggles scoring, they face a Top 20 team in offensive rebounding and an Alabama team that is outside the Top 250 in 3-point shooting whereas South Carolina is a Top 75 3-point shooting team, and they are even better at home to boot. Look for Alabama to have a letdown and Frank Martin's team to get a much-needed win at home on Saturday afternoon.
